First of all, for those who love our work and may still want us to customize items for them, we have a custom order terms and conditions form to be filled. Just send us your details at the contact us page or email us and we will send it to you. This is for the benefit of both parties.

After months of weighing the pros and cons, we have decided to move away from majorly customizing products, and focus on creating ready stock for items that we feel may be needed by our clients.

We have had great clients in the past who have made custom orders, and paid in a timely fashion. Conversely, we have had those who have stayed with payment for longer than expected, even up to a year, or more.

Most of these clients who delay with payment are those we have apparently forged trust with, and so we could get to do their work even without first receiving deposit. A terrible business move, by the way!

We have also made items as ordered, only for a client to change their mind, hence causing us to incur losses, in the hope that the prior items would get a buyer. I kid you not, we still have some black silk covers that a client ordered three years ago, and has never picked them. Silk!

There is also the aspect of being out of or low on stock for more clients who prefer ready made items. And also, staying with a client’s order longer than earlier agreed upon because of the inability to gauge the workload that goes into a particular custom order, as well as other unforeseen circumstances. This is definitely not good for business, either way.

For these reasons, and others we are not able to share here, we have decided to reduce customizing products, and come up with a strategy that will help us create stock of ready made items to customers’ satisfaction and our own satisfaction as well.
